Vines, wines and rambles in the Loire Valley

Marché aux vins de Saumur (vins de Loire)

Since 2004, the first weekend of September, this operation is developed to rehabilitate trails vineyards in the region. The idea is to discover the Loire vineyards giving hikers permanent information on the vine, the terroirs, wine businesses of the vine and the history of the 3rd french vineyard.
The 5th edition of "Vines, Wines and Randos" will put the region of the Loire Valley as the first region in Europe to facilitate its rural heritage in doing so discover a lively and educational hikers from around the world.

Meet on Saturday 6 Sept. at 6.00 pm, Place des Ardilliers, Saumur (49)
An amazing ramble which shows the close link between the town of Saumur and its vineyards. Just a few steps away from the wide expanse of the Saumur Champigny vineyards, the famous Chateau de Saumur towers majestically above the Old Town. The ramblers will be able to take advantage of the superb view over the Loire and Saumur, while they enjoy a glass of this wine. Then, by lamplight, the guides will entrance the walkers as they take them through the narrow streets of the Old Town to show them the higgledy-piggledy black slate roofs and the old timber-framed houses which are typical of this old part of town.

Get away from it all in the heart of the Saumur region, where enthusiastic wine producers will share their passion with you…
